INTERLOCUTION

The galaxy Messier 100, or M100, shows its swirling spiral in this infrared image from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. The arcing spiral arms of dust and gas that harbor starforming regions glow vividly when seen in the infrared.

“Is it me?” she asked.
“No it’s not you”, he replied. “You are someone else. You see, this body is just a figure of your old self. I had to give you that form, in order not to be scared”.
“What do you mean? This is not my body?”
“Of course it’s your body, but it’s just your earthly body”.
“What do you mean by earthly? Where am I now?”
“I’m afraid where is not a very accurate word in our case… “
“………………..”
“You don’t know what has happened to you, don’t you?”
“No….”
“Well, you should ask yourself”.
“But you said that it’s not me”.
You and yourself are two different existences. Yourself is inside you. You is outside you.”
“Bullshit”.
“I’m afraid there are no bulls here… or shit. You see, we don’t have physical bodies to produce shit.”
“How did I end up here?”
“Well, I suppose you went through the Gate”.
“What gate?”
“The Gate of your existence”.
“And how the hell did I do this?”
“No need to tell that hell doesn’t exist… “
“Cut that shit and tell me how I passed through this fucking gate. I want to go back”.
“I’m afraid this is not possible”.
“What do you mean? Am I dead?”
“What dead means?”
“Please stop making fun of me…”
“No really, I don’t know this word”.
Dead, like no life, a corpse, past, nada, nothing”.
“Then no, I don’t think you’re dead, because nothing of these apply to your case”.
“But you said that it isn’t me anymore and I don’t have my body”.
“That’s right”.
“I don’t have an earthly body, you said, so that makes me invisible to earthmen I suppose, since I don’t have a physical form”.
“Very nice! You’re doing much better”.
“As far as I know, when someone doesn’t have a body, is invisible and thus, I am dead”.
“If this strange word means that the earthmen can’t see you anymore, then yes you’re dead.”
“Do you have a physical body?”
“No, as far as I remember…”
“Then you’re dead too!”
“I don’t think so… You described deadness as no life, a corpse, past , nada, nothing. Am I nothing?”
“I guess not…”
“Are you nothing?”
“No… I feel I am… something”.
“You are everything. And this is everywhere”.
“I find this scarier than deadness”.
